LADIES EVENTS

Ladies’ Yosemite Tour Thursday, Oct. 3rd

Not registered yet? Ask at the registration desk!

a FEW POINTERS FOR OUR TOUR:

  • The roads are typical 2-lane rural highways with areas that are curvy in spots, to an elevation of 6,500 feet. If you usually take something for motion sickness, you might want to consider taking something prior to the ride and/or sitting at the front of the bus. We have specifically chosen smaller, 24-passenger buses for this trip for your comfort, and will enjoy a relaxed, easy drive.

  • It takes an hour and a half plus (with beautiful scenery!) to drive all the way to the Yosemite Valley Floor. Once we get there, we will make stops at multiple scenic viewpoints and the iconic Ahwahnee Hotel.

  • We will leave on time in the morning and from each stop. This is essential to ensure that we keep our schedule for arrival at the Ahwahnee Hotel – and get everyone back in time for our evening reception and BBQ.

  • Sorry, but no personal vehicles can join the tour.

  • If you have questions, please email vicki@specialprojectsca.com.

Ladies’ Shopping & State Park Shuttle Bus WedNESDAY, Oct. 2nd

This is at the same time as the Facilities Tour (usually called the logging tour, but this year we’re visiting timber industry facilities). You are invited to attend the Facilities Tour – OR take the shuttle to visit downtown Sonora and Columbia State Park on your own.

The shuttle bus (chartered specifically for our group) will run on a schedule continuously from 10 AM to 4 PM. It starts at Chicken Ranch Casino Resort, goes to downtown Sonora, Columbia State Park, back to Sonora, back to Chicken Ranch, and keeps repeating. You’ll receive a schedule of bus stop times when you board the bus. You can hop on or off whenever you would like, so you can take all the time you want in each spot to shop, have lunch, or explore.

Downtown Sonora

There are many shops and restaurants (we’ll include some recommendations in your registration packet). This website has lots of info: One Small City. Three Big Destinations (sonoraca.com)

If you are interested in a one-hour walking tour of Sonora and its history, please email Vicki@SpecialProjectsCA.com. We can set up a tour if enough ladies would like to participate.

Columbia State Historic Park

A preserved Gold Rush town with no vehicle traffic (except the horse-drawn stagecoach). There are shops, restaurants, a museum, gold panning, and lots of history to explore.
